This painting has all the things I love about spending time at the seashore! As I walked through the dunes covered with flowering Rosa Rugosa, my eyes feasted on the turquoise water of the sea. The impressions of the high tide left as patterns in the sand captivated and inspired me, as did the patterns in the seaweed closer to the shoreline, again leaving the impressions of the tide. Tides suggest time and cycles, and I love incorporating a reference to them for this reason. There weren't as many flowers on the beach side of the dune as there were by the roadside, but I added what I felt helped to portray the feeling I had from my experience of this beach.
